Die HeidelbergCement AG gehört zu den weltweit größten Baustoffunternehmen und ist die Nummer 1 bei Zuschlagstoffen und Transportbeton sowie die Nummer 2 bei Zement.
Nach Abriss der viel zu klein gewordenen Hauptverwaltung, direkt am Neckar in Heidelberg, konzipierte das Büro AS+P einen modernen Verwaltungsneubau. Die Aufgabe von Sieber bestand vornehmlich in der Entwicklung eines zeitgemäßen Bürokonzepts, welches jedoch auf die sehr unterschiedlichen Anforderungen der einzelnen Bereiche eingehen sollte.

The three building parts with up to 6 floors were therefore designed in such a way that it would be possible to respond flexibly to changing requirements in the future. Already during first-time occupancy agile open space areas found consideration as did classic cell structures in specific specialist departments.

Under consideration of the expressive architecture and the ubiquity of the multifaceted building material concrete we have understood the design concept as a supplement – not as characteristic individual element. In particular the many custom designs in special building areas underline the architectural language and visualize the corporate culture.

The about 1000 workplaces are supplemented in a sensible manner through collaboration areas, think tanks in different versions as well as video conference and meeting rooms. A central axis flooded with light not only forms the connecting element between the building - but meeting and communication areas are furthermore offered on the individual floors which pick up different topics of the corporate culture respectively.

A large conference center is offered on the ground floor, as well as a bistro and canteen with fascinating concrete architecture. The formally reduced entrance atrium with an impressive dimension shows the artful treatment of the material concrete in different ways.
